The HCL Foundation, through its flagship program Samuday, is inviting proposals for the ‘Implementation of Precision Agriculture through tech-based approach for marginal farmers’ in the Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh. This initiative aims to enhance productivity by providing farmers with climate information and alerts, introducing precision agriculture and IoT to reduce cultivation costs and production losses.
Objectives of the HCL Foundation’s Samuday Program
- Developing a User-Friendly Application/Dashboard: The proposal seeks to create an easy-to-use application or dashboard that provides farmers with information on crop production estimation and other relevant agricultural data.
- Providing Real-Time Advisory to Farmers: The project aims to offer real-time advisory services to farmers via smartphones, focusing on field crops, soil status, and weather forecasts.
- Increasing Farmers’ Income: By implementing Integrated Nutrient Management and Integrated Pest Management practices, the proposal intends to boost farmers’ income by improving crop yields and reducing losses.
- Delivering Real-Time Solutions/Advisory on Pest and Disease Attacks: The proposal includes using IoT to provide farmers with real-time solutions and advisory services to combat pest and disease attacks effectively.
- Offering Image-Based Solutions for Common Pests and Diseases: The project aims to provide farmers with image-based solutions for identifying and managing common pests and diseases affecting their crops.
- Assisting Farmers in Market Linkage: The proposal includes providing farmers with information on crop prices and assisting them in accessing markets for their produce.

Who Can Apply
Not-for-profit organizations with valid 12A and 80G certificates are preferred, but the application is also open to business firms/for-profit organizations with expertise in the thematic area.
